GED® Preparation at Daytona State College

Ready to earn your high school diploma and unlock new opportunities? Our GED® Prep Program is designed to help adult learners build the skills needed to pass the GED® exam and transition into college or career training.

What You’ll Learn

Class Schedule & Locations - Flexible Options to Fit Your Life

  • Morning Classes: 9 a.m. – noon
  • Evening Classes: 6 – 8 p.m.
  • Online GED Prep: Available for students who score at GED level in Math and Reading

  • New Smyrna Beach (morning classes only)

Steps to Enroll

1. Apply Online

2. Take the Placement Test (CASAS)
     • Available at all campuses
     • Bring a valid photo ID
     • Plan for 2.5 hours

3. Pay Enrollment Fee

     • $30 per semester
     • Pay at Student Accounts or Falcon Center

4. Get Your Student ID & Parking Decal

     • Available at the Question & Answer Center or Falcon Center

Special Information for Underage Students (Ages 16–17)

To enroll in the GED® Prep Program, underage students must:

  • Withdraw from public school and submit withdrawal documentation to Admissions
  • Complete and submit the GED® Parental Consent Form to Admissions

To take the Official GED® Test, underage students must follow the steps outlined on the Florida Department of Education website.

Note: Enrollment in a GED® Prep program is no longer required to take the official test.
