Courses are offered in sequence and can be completed in as little as three semesters. The full endorsement consists of nine credit hours, with payment due upon registration for each course.

What do these courses include?
RED3012, Principles of Reading, includes instruction on the six areas of reading: oral language, phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. This course includes resources for both primary and secondary with a focus on struggling readers. (3 credit hours, 8 week class, course offered Fall or Spring A and B-Term, covers Competency 1 and 2).
RED4519, Diagnosis, Intervention in Reading: Literacy Assessments - all the details about the how and why of diagnostic tools, multisensory techniques, literacy measures, and data collection for struggling readers! This course requires observation or videotape submission with professor feedback and instructional strategy evaluations. (3 credit hours, 16 week course, offered Fall or Spring Full Term, covers Competency 3 and 4).
RED4844, Reading Practicum: Requires observation or video submission with professor feedback and instructional strategy evaluations. (3 credit hours, 8 week class, course offered Fall or Spring B-Term, covers Competency 5).
*Each course requires a one-time face-to-face orientation session.
