Daytona State Offering Nursing Program classes at New Smyrna Beach/Edgewater Campus Starting in Fall

DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. (May 7, 2025) Daytona State College will begin offering Nursing courses toward its full Nursing program at the New Smyrna Beach/Edgewater Campus starting in the Fall Semester. Applications for the Nursing program are open now through May 31. 

“The demand for nurses continues to grow in Volusia and Flagler counties,” said Dr. Colin Chesley, Associate Vice President for the College of Health and Public Services. “Offering classes at our New Smyrna Beach/Edgewater Campus allows for easy accessibility for students interested in pursuing a rewarding career in public service.” 

The Associate of Science in Nursing program will launch first-year classes at the New Smyrna Beach/Edgewater Campus this Fall, with the full two-year program available at the Campus by Spring 2026. Students pursuing careers in nursing can now complete their training at any of Daytona State’s five campuses: Daytona Beach, DeLand, Deltona, Flagler/Palm Coast and New Smyrna Beach/Edgewater.

Graduates are in high demand and can pursue careers as Cardiac Nurses, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Critical Care Nurses, Emergency Room Nurses, Family Nurse Practitioners and Geriatric Nurses.
