Daytona State welcomes 1 new and 1 reappointed trustee

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Sept. 9, 2014) – The District Board of Trustees of Daytona State College retains its full-seat status with Gov. Rick Scott's appointment of new trustee Anne Patterson of DeLand and reappointed trustee Garry Lubi of Palm Coast.

Gov. Scott's office announced on Sept. 8 that Patterson and Lubi will serve four-year terms as members of the board. The news release noted that Patterson, who has a bachelor's and master's degree from the University of Florida, is the president of Mainly Math Inc. and is a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Volusia County Councilman Pat Patterson is her husband. She succeeds Christina Frederick, who after many years of service on the board has decided to pursue other activities.

Lubi is senior vice president of Ameris Bank and has chaired the Flagler County Chamber of Commerce and served on the board of the Flagler County Education Foundation. He has a bachelor's degree from Canisius College.

"We welcome Ms. Patterson and returning trustee Mr. Lubi," said DSC President Carol W. Eaton. "The college is fortunate to have such a well-rounded board with diverse expertise, ready to continue their important work as stewards of our institution."

Their terms of office will run from Sept. 8, 2014, to May 31, 2018.
