Daytona State College will close on Monday, February 16 in observance of George Washington’s birthday as an official state holiday. The recognition coincides with Florida’s statewide celebration of the country’s 250th anniversary. The College will reopen on Tuesday, February 17, at 8 a.m.

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Feb. 21, 2012) – Daytona State College’s men’s and women’s basketball teams played their last home games of the 2011-12 season on Saturday, Feb. 18, and to mark the occasion they showed their support for breast cancer awareness by wearing pink warm-up shirts. The Mid-Florida Conference games conclude on Wednesday, Feb. 22 in Jacksonville where the Lady Falcons aim to solidify the season championship before heading to the state tournament, March 8 – 10.
 
Daytona State College is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association and the Florida Community College Athletics Association Mid-Florida Conference. The Falcons currently compete in seven Division I NJCAA sports including Men's and Women's Basketball, Baseball, Fast-Pitch Softball, Women's Golf and Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving. The main focus of the Daytona State Falcons athletic program is to prepare student-athletes for success in life. This is accomplished through strong academic programs and support services coupled with quality coaching and athletic facilities.
