Nursing (ADN) program, a comprehensive two-year journey designed to prepare you for
a fulfilling career as a Registered Nurse. Our program equips you with the skills
to thrive in diverse settings such as hospitals, long-term care facilities, and ambulatory
care centers. Upon graduation, you’ll be eligible to take the NCLEX (National Council
Licensure Examination), paving your way to becoming a licensed Registered Nurse.

Application process
- Download and complete the Nursing Application
- Note: Applications must be submitted in person.
- Consult with an academic advisor during the application period for guidance and to ensure your application is complete. Schedule your appointment with Academic Advising today.
- Admission decisions are communicated via mail around six weeks after the application
period ends.
Enrollment periods - May & September: We accept applications daily throughout May for classes commencing in August, and daily throughout September for classes starting in January.
Curriculum update:
- As part of our commitment to align with the latest educational standards, the Florida Department of Education’s Civic Literacy Competency requirement can be met by taking AMH2020 - United States History 1865 to Present or POS2041 - American Federal Government.
- The previous Oral Communication/SPC2608 requirement has been updated to include a Civic Literacy course, maintaining the program’s total at 72 credits.

What do I have to include with the nursing program application? The submitted nursing application must include:
- Completed nursing application.
- Copy of unofficial transcripts. All official transcripts must be received by the Admissions Office at the time of application submission.
- Copy of passing TEAS* test scores.

*The TEAS test is a requirement for acceptance into the nursing program and it must be taken at Daytona State College PRIOR to submitting an application.

Where can I take the TEAS test and how can I prepare? -
How does the application selection process work? Selection based on a point system. The applicants with the highest cumulative points are the students accepted into the program. See the criteria in the How to Apply Guide.
Final acceptance into the program is contingent upon satisfactory results from a physical examination and both a negative drug screening and cleared Level II background check conducted through the FDLE/FBI.
