CCAMPIS Program

The Child Care Access Means Parents In School (CCAMPIS) grant is a federal program of the U.S. Department of Education that assists student parents with the cost of keeping their children enrolled in quality, accredited, and conveniently located childcare services. Our program provides partial funding to students who are eligible to receive Pell grants and are in pursuit of post-secondary education.

  • What services does CCAMPIS provide?

    CCAMPIS offers partial childcare assistance, along with parenting workshops, family-friendly events, educational resources, scholarships, and peer support.
  • Does CCAMPIS cover registration or application fees?

    Yes, one-time assistance may be available for registration or application fees.
  • When can I apply?

    Applications are accepted year-round.
  • How long is my application valid?

    Applications remain valid for one academic year, but eligibility is reviewed each semester.
  • Does applying guarantee I’ll receive assistance?

    No. Funding is limited, and childcare awards are based on eligibility and available funds.
  • Which childcare providers can I use?

    You must select a provider from the CCAMPIS-approved network.
  • Can I request a provider not on the list?

    Yes, but the provider must meet program requirements (licensed, insured, accredited or working toward accreditation, or have a CLASS score of 4+). Approval is not guaranteed and may delay processing.
  • How many children can CCAMPIS support?

    CCAMPIS funding provides support for one child per eligible student. Based on available funding, the program may be able to assist with up to three children. 
  • Does CCAMPIS pay the full cost of childcare?

    No. CCAMPIS provides partial funding. Students contribute on a sliding scale (no more than $35/week per child).
  • Can I apply if my Pell Grant is pending?

    Yes, but your application will not be reviewed until all supporting documents are submitted.
  • Does CCAMPIS support Adult Education or ESOL students?

    No. To qualify, you must be enrolled at least half-time in college-level coursework that leads to a degree or certificate. This means:

    • A minimum of 6 college credit hours, or
    • Enrollment in a clock-hour certificate program with the equivalent of half-time status.

    You must also be Pell-eligible.
  • When will I know if I’m approved?

    You will be notified via your DSC Falcon Email before the semester begins.
  • Are evening or online students eligible?

    Yes. As long as you are enrolled in at least half-time, online and night classes are eligible.
  • Are there ongoing requirements during the semester?

    Yes. Participants must complete orientation, a wellness activity, and a mid-semester check-in each term.
