New Detective's Academy Date: January 20-30, 2026
Location: Daytona State College - ATC campusCOURSE DESCRIPTION: This 8-day specialized course offers a comprehensive overview and practical training for agency detectives and investigators. It is designed to develop a wide range of job-specific skills, enhance each
participant’s investigative toolkit, and improve effectiveness in the field. The transition from patrol officer to investigator is complex and often requires additional resources, guidance, and mentorship. In addition to skill development, this course provides valuable networking opportunities with peers from other agencies— fostering collaboration, shared insights, and professional growth. Our goal is to deliver high-quality training for

Agency Inspector Renewal Date: January 21, 2026 - 8 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Location: Daytona State College - ATC campusCOURSE DESCRIPTION: During this 6 hour course, the student will learn the role of an agency inspector as it relates to ensuring evidentiary breath test instruments are providing accurate and reliable results. A written final exam is given requiring a minimum score of 80% to pass the course. Students must attend all sessions of the course. Note: The student must possess a valid Breath Test Operator Certificate and Agency Inspector Certificate issued by the FDLE Alcohol Testing Program (ATP.) Speed Measurement Date: January 26-30, 2026
Location: Daytona State College - ATC campusCOURSE DESCRIPTION: This is the CJSTC and FDLE certified Speed Measurement Course (1158) to become a certified radar and laser operator in the State of Florida. The student will learn to identify targets and become familiar with speed estimates. The student will conduct testing procedures on the equipment to ensure proper operation. The student will learn the legal basis for the principles of Doppler radar and the proper vernacular for courtroom testimony. There will be at least 12 hours of hands-on practical exercises as part of the course. It is recommended that the students bring radar and laser units for the field exercises (if available).

Basic Traffic Homicide Investigation Date: January 26 - February 6, 2026 - 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Location: Daytona State College - ATC campusCOURSE DESCRIPTION:
The student will be refreshed on their duties and
responsibilities at the scene of a crash. The student
will learn how to identify evidence found on the
roadway and from the vehicle.
An introduction to some of the important
mathematical calculations and physical laws will be
given. Also, the student will learn how to measure and
diagram, and how to use photography and video to
document the scene.
The student will also participate in practical exercises
involving measuring and diagramming.Course Registration:
