Katheryn Csonka

Dr. Katheryn Csonka is a professor in the Bob & Carol Allen School of Nursing, teaching the RN-BSN program. She began teaching at Daytona State College in 2013.

Dr. Csonka earned her Associate of Science in nursing degree at Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1995, received her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Walden University in 2013 and earned her Ph.D. in Nursing Education from Capella University in 2022.

Dr. Csonka is a member of the General Education Committee, Faculty Senate, Peer Review Committee and the Cultural Diversity Committee. She also serves as an E-mentor, with College Connections participating in outreach to the community and high schools at various events, and as an advisor with the Florida Student Nurses Association.

Dr. Csonka is a member of the American Health Council and was nominated as one of America’s Best Nurses in 2017. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society and was selected for membership in Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society of Education. She is a Northeast Florida Lupus Advisory Board member.

Dr. Csonka has a special interest in research related to student-centered learning, publishing, and presenting.
